LGBTQ Support Group

The LGBTQ Support Group is a new program from Gateway, in partnership with the Lansing Association for Human Rights (LAHR), which aims to help lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth between the ages of 14 and 17 in the Lansing area. LGBTQ youth are often at higher risk for homelessness, family conflict, and bullying than their peers, making Gateway’s LGBTQ Support Group an integral part of our commitment to youth.
The group is overseen by Gateway’s Adolescent and Family Therapist Amanda Dubey, and run with help from interns and volunteers. It meets every Tuesday afternoon from 3:30 to 5:00 and features guest speakers, field trips, art therapy, and other fun activities. The group will also meet at different locations depending on the discussion topics, making for a dynamic and fun experience. Topics to be discussed include:
