Gateway receives grants from many branches of government to fund our programs; however, more funding is needed both to expand existing services and to provide for a solid future for our organization. To donate to Gateway please follow the guidelines below: Cash Donations: You can mail a check to us at:
Gateway Community Services
2875 Northwind Drive - Suite 111
East Lansing, Michigan 48823
Credit card donations can be taken over the phone by calling us at 517-351-4000 or by stopping in at our office at the above address.
Gifts of Property or Stock: Gifts of appreciated stock or property can be a great way to both help Gateway and reduce capital gains tax. Gateway Community Services has an established relationship with the Trust and Investment Division of Citizens Bank. Please contact the Executive Director for more information.
Charitable Trust & Endowments: Your influence on Gateway can last beyond your lifetime when you set up a trust or endowment at Gateway. With your principal donation protected and invested, the earnings will be put to work helping generations to come. Charitable Remainder Trusts are used most effectively with highly appreciated assets such as low basis stocks, bonds, real estate, a business, or other assets that can be readily sold. Endowments work together with others gifts to provide much needed operating dollars for Gateway in perpetuity. Please contact the Executive Director for more information.
Gateway Community Services is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and as such your donations may be deductible for tax purposes. Due to the complexity of individual tax situations we recommend you contact your tax advisor for proper treatment.
