Youth Workforce Development Program

The Youth Workforce Development Program provides educational planning and employment services including:

  • Tutoring in reading and writing
  • Help with resume building
  • Guidance in mastering the interview process
  • Assistance with conducting a job search
  • Supportive services and counseling

The program also assists youth in finding internships and jobs with area businesses.

Who is eligible for the Youth Workforce Development Program?

  • Youth ages 17-21 who,
  • Have a low-income level and,
  • Fall into at least one of the following categories:
    • Deficient in basic skills
    • School drop out
    • Homeless or runaway youth
    • Pregnant or parenting youth
    • Offender
    • Person requiring additional assistance to complete an educational program or to secure/hold a job
    Informational meetings are held every Tuesday at 4pm at Capital Area Michigan Works, located at:

    2110 S. Cedar St.
    Lansing, MI 48910

    Take CATA bus #5 south from the Capitol to point B on the route map
